Antennas

Parabolic antennas as well as radar antennas can be mounted on the ground, on land vehicles or on board ships. The mechanical transmission consists of a rotating ring gear and a precision planetary gearbox.
Antennas are not only heavy, but also work in harsh environments with extreme temperatures and wind forces. These factors impose significant demands on the gears that must be carefully analyzed to ensure precise, smooth operation with sufficient load capacity under all circumstances.
Santa Fe ECS calculates and designs special antenna gears and drives. These designs are geared to operate in a wide range of temperatures and can operate anywhere from the Arctic Circle to tropical deserts. Our antenna gears are available with both spur and helical teeth for quiet operation and high precision. The stiffness of the drive is designed to compensate for impact loads caused by strong gusts of wind.
For military environments, Santa Fe ECS calculates and designs gears to MIL standards and/or other customer specifications so that the mechanical transmission meets the required military specifications.
