Marine and Offshore

Port cranes, ships, offshore oil & gas platforms, offshore wind energy, etc., work continuously exposed to wind, wet saline environment, waves, snow, extreme temperatures, etc.
For such hostile environments, special requirements are needed in the calculation and design of gears and gearboxes. Gears are designed with higher safety factors at the tooth root and tooth flank. In gearboxes, for example, coatings are applied that offer better protection against marine corrosion.
In these industries, compliance with American Bureau of Shipping (ABS), Det Norske Veritas (DNV) or American Petroleum Industrie (API) standards may be required.
Over the years Santa Fe ECS has acquired experience in the calculation and design of gear systems for marine environments.
