Decanter and centrifuge machines

In ancient times, solid-liquid separation processes were carried out by gravity sedimentation and mechanical pressing. These processes, although simple, are slow and inefficient.

The mechanical separation of solids and liquids is decisive in industrial sectors such as the petrochemical industry, plastics manufacturing, pharmacy and bioengineering, extraction of oils, fats, starch, proteins of animal or vegetable origin, processing of milk derivatives such as whey, milk bacteria, casein, fine cheeses, quark cheese, soft cheese, lactose, milk protein, butter, wine, beer, fruit juices, dehydration of sludge from urban wastewater, production of biodiesel and bioethanol, etc.

In centrifugal machines, gravity is replaced by centrifugal force, which can reach up to ten thousand times the force of gravity. Therefore, separation with centrifuges is faster and more efficient than by gravity sedimentation.

At Santa FE ECS we have a solid experience in the calculation and design of differential gearboxes for decanters and centrifugal machines.
